4th ANNUAL HOW WEIRD STREET FAIRE PLANNED FOR EASTER SUNDAY

2003 Faire Takes Over the SOMA District With More Entertainers, Speakers, and Vendors, Promoting Expanded Consciousness, Peace, and Weirdness!

San Francisco, California -- Howard Street becomes "How Weird Street" as the 4th Annual How Weird Street Faire takes place on Easter Sunday, April 20th, 2003, along four City streets, from the intersection of Howard and 12th Streets through San Francisco's SOMA district. The good times begin at 12:00 PM and last until 8:00 PM, with a sliding scale donation requested at the gates (recommended $2 with costume; $5 without). This annual community gathering of musicians, artisans, vendors, dancers, and anyone with an appreciation of unique self-expression has become one of the most anticipated street fairs in San Francisco. Inviting the participants to become the performers, the faire celebrates the Bay Area community's creative vibrancy and eccentric personalities. The faire encourages participants to share in the experience of an engaging, exciting street dance party that features dancing, performance, shopping, and creative self-expression in an environment where "weirdness" is not merely accepted, it's expected! In our ever-expanding universe, it is a humble yet primary goal of the How Weird Street Faire to promote harmony by expanding our collective consciousness, for as we unite in celebration, we dissolve barriers to love and allow peace to grow.

This year's How Weird Street Faire will have four music stages featuring live acts and world-class DJs playing psychedelic trance, funky break-beat and more. Selected community leaders and social activists begin speaking at 4:00 PM, and at 4:20 PM a "Unity Track" will be played across all four sound systems. Additionally, there will be a dazzling display of performance artists, including a marching band, belly dancers, circus acts, wandering musicians, and elaborately costumed stilt walkers. The Bizarre Bazaar will provide an international collection of conscious art and high-spirited vendors, and a Children's Play Area will keep the little ones entertained all day long. Come out on 4/20 and be a part of the weirdness. For more information or to get involved please visit our website at www.howweird.org

The How Weird Street Faire is a project of World Peace Through Technology (popularly known as the Peace Tour - www.PeaceTour.org), an educational non-profit organization dedicated to inspiring world peace through the benevolent uses of technology.
